Sitting at my computer, feeling kinda sleepy, lumpy headed, unemployed again...

Let's see, what's up with me...

We had a BIG house conversation over the weekend, and Mike & I have decided to hang on for one more month to see if, after our big airing of difficulties, we can make this work. We're sticking around for a month to see what happens. Urgh, what a terrible time to lose my job! Although I couldn't stand working there, so it's just as well.

Toying with the idea of moving out to Chicago with Mike in a year or so. He really misses it, and I'm feeling the need to a) get back to a city and b) live somewhere new. Really new.

So that is what's up with me at the moment. I'll post stuff about my accident in a bit

Scary

Got back from seeing my car for the first time since the accident. Since I remember almost nothing from the accident itself, I had NO idea what kind of shape the car was in. I actually called the towing company to find out if it was drivable. I'm amazed the guy didn't laugh at me.

It's destroyed.

Or rather, what used to be my perfectly functional vehicle is now a twisted hunk of torn metal, with the body of a car attached to it. I am grateful to be alive, and so unbelievably uninjured. The hood/engine sustained all of the damage. The passenger compartment is completely fine. Which I find amazing, considering that if you look it up on Kelly blue book, that car has the worst possible rating for safety. God, I wish I'd had a camera. I took a twisted hunk of metal (what was left of the license plate) from the tow yard.

This is the most shaken up I've been since the accident happened. And on top of everything else, I missed a call from my boss today. He left me a message, sounding all serious and asking me to call back, which of course I didn't get until well after closing.

Ah, well. I'm not terribly attached to keeping this job anyway. And hey, I was in an accident that was not my fault, and they wouldn't let me return to work until I got OK'd by a doctor, so if they let me go because of lost time due to that, maybe I'll sue 'em. Would serve (some) of them right.

But they did sent me a really sweet card, so maybe not. :-)

I'm gonna go get some more cuddles now. Have a lovely evening, y'all.

Quote of the day: "Fear me, for I AM Sarah-Modo

So hooray for me, got into a car accident yesterday. Never fear, somewhat faithful readers, I am basically unharmed - my face just looks like Quasi-modo's. Although I am still managing to be hot in spite of my lumpiness, go me!

Basically, I was driving home from work during lunch yesterday to drop off my bf's wallet at home. Was coming down Cook road at 50 MPH (the speed limit) when some kid pulled out infront of me in a truck, trying to turn left onto the road. Apparently I T-boned him, then spun and rolled into the yard of some very nice people who called the police and took care of me until the ambulance got there. I did spot the kid, who had bashed his forehead and was bleeding a little, but got sent home with his father. Then I got to ride in said ambulance to the hospital;, spend some fun, fun time in the Emergency Room, puke all over myself, get a Cat Scan, get told by the State Trooper at the scene that I had no fault in the accident (hooray!) at which point my wonderful bf MIke showed up and his extra-super boss gave us a ride home.

Sad news, I was uninsured, so who knows how much of this will be covered by the kid's insurance, and my car was totalled. Frowny face. Good news, I get the rest of the week off of work to rest, which I totally need, being kinda banged up and sore all over, not to mention a little foggy. A close friend called me, and MIke picked up and said "Sarah, L's on the phone" and I couldn't remember who she was for at least a minute. Sorry about that sweetie, I would have recognized your voice at once.

All in all, aside from being a bit stiff, sore, and weak, I'm A-OK. Hopefully I'll see ya'all soon. lots of love and smooches.
